5 things She Hates About Weddings!

We all agree weddings are the sweetest things ever! At least the ladies do. Can't help but notice how on the big day, the brides smile so much, but the grooms always seem to be lost in thought! Hmmmm.....
Anyways though weddings are beautiful, someone would like to vent about the 5 things she hates most about weddings. This girl happens to be one of the most down to earth people I have ever met! She is crazy, sexy, beautiful (no homo). So from her mouth to God's ears, she...

  1. Hates weddings without ample supply of alcohol!

  1. Hates the throwing of the bouquet...like that really guarantees anything!

  1. Hates it when everyone is dancing and having fun, then Dj suddenly starts packing up and getting ready to leave! aaarrrggghhh

  1. Hates grooms that wear gloves! lmao!

  1. Hates boring and f'd up MC's!!!

And yea, everything is number 1 cos she can't figure out which one she hates the most. She actually had a million and ten on her list but cant have her looking like a wedding hater cos this is a wedding lovers' site! Anyways, Happy Birthday babes, and thanks for sharing!!!

So what do you hate most about weddings? Post now!

The Ideal Groom - 1

As usual when a girl is asked about her ideal groom, it's usually this: Tall, good looking, God- fearing and has vision and potential. Translation- tall, dark, handsome and rich!
Just before we get real descriptions from real women about who their ideal men are, let's take a look at some scrumptious looking men that bring about the "handsome" in our ideal groom criteria ;)

The Cook's Proposal

She had spent weeks thinking of how to break the news about having a carry-over course to her mum, that she barely had the time to think of anything else. On the other hand, thoughts of the love of her life always seemed comforting every time she ran out of ideas how to break the news to her mum.  Anyways just so we know a thing or two about this beautiful bride in question, she is one who loves to cook. And boy can she cook! So as usual, her boyfriend Ope, came over every Sunday to get a taste of  her good cooking and God knows what else! Earlier on this particular day, she had finally summoned the courage to break the news to her mum and was still slightly uneasy from the aftermath. So just as she was doing the usual in the kitchen and lamenting to him about the whole incident, something suddenly jolted her back to reality and the earth stood still. She looked down to see him taking the position on the floor. One knee down, one foot down, hands opening the little cute box….wow, he didn’t have to go this length for a piece of fried meat? He could’ve just asked nicely. Though this was not the Eiffel Tower proposal she had always dreamt of….that rather tall refrigerator in her kitchen suddenly became the Eiffel tower….the boiling rice became music to her ears….the lights from the gas cooker suddenly became curtain lights… and the smell of meat stew smelled strongly like the evening breeze…. Oh yes Paris was right in her kitchen! And Francois was Opeyemi, her future husband. To hell with ugly school results or her mother;s fury, saying YES made it all okay!

Oh, and about a year after their marriage, we finally discovered what the every Sunday visit was about asides for food. This evidence will be 4 this year and is  the world ‘s cutest baby boy!

What People are Wearing to Weddings these Days!

Okay, just digressing a bit from the proposal line which is sure to continue. Just had to talk about the above topic. Gone are the days people wear traditional attires to weddings or even try to keep things simple and nice. These days babes aren't smiling! Babes are on a mission to either outshine the bride or catch the Groom's attention. Whether or not they'll jam their parent's friends at the wedding or even their own parents is no longer a thing of concern. Weddings these days are just prowling grounds and full blown daylight clubbing. No one wears trad to weddings anymore unless its the Asoebi for the day and trust me, the styles been sewn out of these are nothing near traditional. I'm not hating on this cos I might have a few not so traditional attires too... ;). But what I'm saying is, is it appropriate for weddings? Does it add to the glamour & excitement? Or does it create a foundation for couple's fights and divorces? You'll be amazed that even the over 60 daddys can't take their eyes of those hot legs!
Could this be as a result of an enraged ex, personal fashion style, wedding trend or simply a man hunting exercise. But I'm sure we all know, looking for serious guys at weddings is just a wasted effort. Most of them are either married with or without the evidence of a wedding band or are already engaged/ in a serious relationship. What  a waste!

Guys on the other hand tend to look pretty sharp at weddings! In a suit or a well tailored trad outfit, each  guy tends to look like his bank account is very well endowed! Wash! It's all about perception. From a prowling perspective this only makes his a more attractive object that fits into the profile of a the "it guy".  That's not to say he might not be one. But how can you tell the difference when all them guys are looking so damn hot! Wonder what men think while getting dressed to attend a wedding. Let me guess - I'm gonna look hot and make my girl proud. I'm gonna look hot and make them girls wish. I'm gonna look hot and make "her" regret.

As a guy or a girl, what's your favourite wedding style and why that? Do share.

The Fun Girl's Proposal

They had been dating for  over 2 years and in that short while they had come to experience heaven on earth and yes, hell on earth too. This relationship is one I personally experienced and I'm almost tempted to tell the story based on my super excitement on hearing the good news! But no, let me tell it just as it happened. Now this is not your usual proposal. This guy kept it real. He knew his girl and luckily they really were birds of the same feather (in their case, the peacock will be the ideal bird).
So in the fun girl's own words, she really didn't see it coming. They had broken up a few months earlier due to social issues (no, not about third parties) and she really didn't think the relationship was heading in that direction. Little did she know the power of Love was far greater than any other human emotion. So while clubbing one hot Friday night, dancing to Beyonce's single ladies as was her favourite song back then (hehe), he suddenly popped the question. At that moment, she forgot all her dance moves (and believe me this girl knows how to move!), Beyonce suddenly sounded like Pasuma and Club Insomania became a dream.  Still in shock she thought it was the alcohol talking, then snapped out of it before the girl standing next to her decided to grab the ring  instead! Her proposal was different, it wasn't the usual romantic scene, but it was a scene that worked for her. Quite a double hit combo that night - the proposal and the engagement party... literally! So simple. He wanted it and he put a ring on it.

Share your experience and let's see things from your perpective!

His Proposal

Most times, we often think, that women are more detailed when it comes to love. I beg to disagree. That is not to say we still don't have the rugged loving men. But when it comes to proposals it is simply amazing how a man goes over the moon just to create that "special" moment for his girl. Then again it's his loss if he doesn't cos you bet she's going to relate every single second of the story to all her girlfriends! And trust me, he doesn't want to be the cheap lover. Now, creating this special moment has nothing to do with the bank. Or does it? With a creative mind a bank account is simply secondary....
Hope you find this amazing live proposal as mushy as i did. And yes i like mushy. **blowing my nails**
The men are taking over! We have men lined up eager to share their personal proposal experiences! How they proposed, why they thought to propose the chosen way , their expectations and emotions that followed. So, read on you wedding crazy Nigerians!

The Proposal

No, this crazy community doesn't start from the moment you start dating or from your 5th year dating anniversary. In fact, if after 5 years there is still no hope of answering that famous question; sista, it's time to get it stepping!
So, yea this crazy community all starts from the very moment the big question is popped. It is hard to imagine what goes through the minds of both people in question or the motive behind the question. Well who cares what who thinks? The main thing is that, the much awaited question has been popped and one way or the other an answer must be given!
So this post will concentrate on different proposals you have seen or heard of, or your own personal proposal experience.
I'd have to get a PG18 approval before sharing mine but yes it was one of those really mushy types though for some reason, i didn't cry.  I simply reflected on the past three and a half years....the good, the bad and the ugly.
So do share your story with us, and let's all have a good laugh or cry. Good thing is no matter how dry or unbelievable your story is, no one can actually throw eggs at you - in naija context- pure water!
